AELIA | Ricardo CID シド

One face. Two realities. A presence beyond the canvas.

In AELIA, human identity takes shape through a striking encounter between painting and sculpture. A powerful blue eye draws the viewer into a face divided between expressive figuration and fragmented geometric relief.

Hand-sculpted textures emerge physically from the canvas, while golden accents and subtle silhouettes introduce depth, memory and movement. As light changes, the raised surfaces reveal new shadows, transforming the artwork's visual presence.

Part of the PRESENCIAS · Volume II collection, AELIA embodies Ricardo CID シド's distinctive visual language, SHIDO シド, where figurative neo-expressionism meets geometry, abstraction and influences from urban art, with subtle echoes of Japanese aesthetics reflected in the expressiveness of his figures and the strength of his brushwork.

AELIA is an original contemporary figurative painting by Ricardo CID シド, a Spanish artist based in Madrid and creator of SHIDO シド, his distinctive pictorial language.

A presence that changes with the light.
