Personal history and motivation
When I began this work, I wasn't looking for a perfect portrait, but rather to capture a raw emotion. I wanted to paint that feeling of silent confession, that moment when the eyes speak volumes that words never can.
Symbolism and mystery
Naira speaks of the fatigue of what has been lived and the lucidity of what has not been said. Within her lies resilience, invisible scars, and uncomfortable truths we don't always want to face. She is a mirror that cannot be ignored.
Visual interpretation
The vibrant blue of the background clashes with the earthy emptiness, creating tension. The elongated neck, the tense lips, and the shadowy skin transform the face into an emotional territory. Each stroke of acrylic and oil paint leaves traces that seek not to beautify, but to provoke.
My style as an artist
I don't paint realism, I paint sensations. My style is constructed with bold strokes and contrasts that convey soul rather than form. In Naira, I used a mixture of acrylic and oil on Canson paper to intensify textures and make the eye the absolute center of the work.
